Michael Fishbach
Michael is our executive director and co-founder.
For the past 25 years Michael has been actively involved in field research and conservation work on blue and other great Whales.

Heather Watrous
Director of Education
Heather Watrous, has been teaching about and sharing the wonders of the natural world to children and adults her entire life.

Alberto Davis
Mexican Artisanal Fisherman
For the past ten years Alberto has served seasonally as the captain of our research boat on the Sea of Cortez. Alberto lives with his wife and three sons in the town of Loreto in the state of Baja California Sur Mexico.

Delphi Waters
Director of Media & Brand Design
In addition to her intimate understanding and love for cetaceans, Delphi brings her expertise in photography, graphic design, communications, video production and social media management to the GWC.

Lenard Milich, PHD
Lenard Milich studied under the world-renowned cetacean researcher, Dr. Ken Norris. His first direct exposure to the great whales was when he participated in the dissection of an adult female blue whale, washed up just north of that city.

Lindsay Crouse
Lindsay Crouse is best known internationally as an award-winning actress in film, television and theater, a career that has spanned fifty years.

Board of Advisors

Capt. Michael S. Barbaix
Barbaix is a Master Mariner onboard so-called supertankers. He started his seafaring career at the age of 17 when he got accepted at the Antwerp Maritime Academy and is now exploring options on how he can return to the ocean what the ocean gave to him.

Maximiliano Bello
Maximiliano Bello is an international ocean policy expert who has worked in the environmental arena for over 2 decades to advance marine conservation priorities.

Dr. Jorge Urbán
Dr. Jorge Urbán is a Professor of the Department of the Coastal and Marine Sciences of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur at La Paz, B.C.S., where he has worked for 30 years.

John Calambokidis
A research biologist and co-founder of Cascadia Research, a nonprofit organization formed in 1979 and based in Olympia, Washington, is an advisor to the GWC.

Dr. David Guggenehim
Dr. David E. Guggenheim is a marine scientist, conservation policy specialist, submarine pilot, ocean explorer and educator. He is president and founder of the Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization, Ocean Doctor.

Roger Proudfoot
Roger Proudfoot is the UK Environment Agency’s Estuary and Coast Planning Manager for England and Chair of the UK Healthy Biologically Diverse Seas Evidence Group (HBDSEG).
